Zemp!

Is the name of my new puppy. He's about 8 weeks old and already a trained killer. Thats right.

So much has been happening, sorry I haven't blogged. Yay Christmas and being 18! I also finally went surviving with Lucas and Henry, we lasted 4 hours. Not, that we couldn't make it, but while we were about to start the fire I cut my hand open. Henry swore up and down that I didn't need stitches, but Dr. Gil gave me eleven.

Well, thats that. For now. JC loves you, Merry Christmas!

Chorus of Angels

Destroy my silence. It haunts me, it claims me; while darkness walks beside me.
I saw the Angels sing along to wake up the beautiful sleeping world. Their voices will rise to test the strength of man. Wake up the beautiful sleeping world.

This message, while very hard to hear, is completely true. The song is Chorus of Angels by Haste the Day, I don't recommend it to you unless your ready to have your ears blown out, but if so, look it up. We, as Christians, need to wake up this sleeping world.

Its been quite a while since I've blogged, my laptop hasn't been working. FCA retreat this weekend and Callie's coming home! Then only one week until Christmas break and Zemp!!!

Ps, I was mistaken in my last blog. Maggie Wehunt is not sour, or at least not anymore. She's changed her ways and is a blog/Zack lover. How awesome.

The Moon

Has been crazy lately. It's been so birght! It seriously has woken me up 3 times in the middle of the night this past week just because of its brightness. Its also been a day moon all week, how about that. But tonight it was a full moon, and its amazing. Go look!

The family took a trip to Presbyterian today, I had a little football visit while my mom and my dad went tailgaiting with Callie Elizabeth. I also met up with a buddy from boys state, what up big Clint? But anyways, I love it up there, and my adpi girlz. Thats right.

I'm stronger now

Even after everything that you did, I'm still alive and kicking. I'm better now, I'm awake and I can see everything in front of me.

I never thought I'd see this day, but I'm playing soccer. Today was my first day, and honestly I enjoyed it. It was nothing like football, thats uncomparable, but soccer practice is like I'm just hanging with the guys and playing ball.

Shout out to Margaret Lackey Wehunt, although she won't see this. She's a blog hater, actually she's just a hater. I'm pretty sure she was born sour, anyone have any confirmation on that?

Its a Recurring Theme

Pastor Bruce's amazing preaching that is. Seriously guys, He is an amazing Pastor and our church is very, very blessed to have him. Obviously He was doing work again this morning. I'm sure there are only like five people reading this, one of them being my mom, but yall need to come check out First Baptist Church of Camden, for realz.

Along with this church theme, our new Minister of music, Jeremy Scroggs was "inducted," I guess thats the word, as a minister today. Holler. He also led one heck of a worship this morning, seriously people come to FBC!

Also, go to freerice.com! If you don't know what that is, its a site where every time you answer a question, whether it be enlgish, math, science, or what not, correctly you donate ten grains of rice to a third world country! I know it sounds like nothing, ten grains isnt even a spoon ful, but it adds up! By the way, I'm the 281st highest rice donator in the world. Seriously. Look me up and donate rice!

And whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the father through him.

Understanding

What God has in store for you is something that isn't very easy, or even natural. Sometimes you don't agree, last night for instance, but you just have to trust the Lord and keep on going. And thats what I keep telling myself.

I'm not really sure how to wrap this season up, and I know I don't want to just yet. When I come to the realization that I have to, I'll finish this blog. Until then, God bless.

The LORD will rescue His servants; no one who takes refuge in Him will be condemned.

Yes, thats me - the blogmeister. But not really, I never blog anymore, but i had to give these three sweethearts a shout out. I'm currently in the journalism lab with cort, rod, and will. Party party. Follow me.

Pastor Bruce

Was on point today with his sermon. Actually he always is, our church is pretty blessed to have a Pastor like him.

Football is going good, we had another shutout this past friday. I think lakewood knows a little about our defense now, since they didn't want to acknowledge us prior to the game. This friday night is going to be crazy, then PC the next morning. It's Sunday night and I'm already looking forward to the next weekend...

but seek ye first His kindogm and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you.

If you want the added pressure

Put it on the game this Friday. Region game and the oldest rivalry in the state - I started getting nervous today at lunch.

Just as iron sharpens iron; One man sharpens another.
Proverbs 27:17

Sunday, September 19, 2010

I'd be 35 years old...

If lugoff won the 18 games straight they would need to even out the series between us. In that span they would also have to win seven state championships to even have an argument with us, which is why I don't understand the emphasis, from both sides, that was put on the game friday night. Its not region, its not playoffs.

Don't get me wrong, I take every game I play seriously. I want to win everytime I put on the gold and black regardless of who we're playing. But it wasn't Marlboro County, and it sure as heck wasn't Hartsville. (For those of you who don't know, Hartsville is our big rival. Its the oldest rivalry in the state of South Carolina)

But oh well. Emphasis, no emphasis; Rivalry, no rivalry - we won. School is going great, shout out to Coach Hendrix and first block Earth science. We spend time raising crayfish and growing plants, all for the betterment of America's health. Callie was home this weekend, so you know things in the Neal household were pumping. 200th year aniversary of first Baptist church today! I've got a Dew in my hand, Deer hunting season just opened, and the bulldogs are 4-0. All is well in the World.

Even the lion will go hungry, but those who put their hope in the Lord will lack no good thing.

Pack your bags we're leaving now

Something I don't think I've ever gone over in this blog is the title of my blog. "Pack your bags, we leave at dawn" is a quote from the song "To Live and Die by Fire" by the band "Still Remains." This band isn't labeled as Christian, but the members themselves are all Christians. At the time I created this blog this was my favorite song, it rocks pretty hard so those with feeble ears should probably keep their distance.

Camden is 3-0 right now and it feels great. Its the best start we've had since I've been in highschool, and probably the most excited Camden has been about football in those four years as well. Right now we're just trying to get better everyday, we have a long season ahead of us and we understand that. Go dogs.

I can't quite think of anything blog worthy right now. I'm going on a big dove shoot saturday morning which is pretty exciting, and spirit week is coming up next week, so thats always fun. Thats enough for now, JC loves you!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Wow, its been a while.

Summer came and I stopped blogging. I thought about deleting this blog, but i couldn't figure out how so i just forgot about it. Then Monday on the first day of school Coach Hendrix reminded me that my blog hadn't been updated in quite some time, and thats not Earth Science approved.

So here goes a quick summer recap: I spent most of the summer at the lake, per usual, but I also spent a bunch of time doing football stuff. Weight lifting, passing leagues, and later in the summer the practices began. I also went to Boy State, which was seriously one of the greatest weeks of my life. I seriously could ramble on and on about Boys State and the rest of my summer for hours, but I won't.

The first week of school was last week and it was pretty exciting, my senior year looks to be pretty enjoyable school wise and I played in one of the most exciting football games of my life friday night against Spring Valley. We pulled it off winning 28-21, another big game coming up this week against ware shoals. Go dogs!

Palmetto Boys State

truly can't be described. You walk in the first day knowing about ten guys that you came with, and leave a family of 900. Its and amazing week, encourage anyone you know to go.

Shout out to Grant Field, my roomate, and Bradley Vaughn, founder of the goon squad. But there were many, many more. People that haven't experienced PBS could never truly understand it, so theres no use in trying to explain the week. Thanks to everyone at Amercian legion and at PBS who made this week possible.

So much going on

I mean the title says it all. Summer has started and I haven't been spending my time blogging, I've spent it at football or at the lake. Boys state starts tomorrow!

I'm sure no middle school boys follow my blog, but Luke and I have started a middle school guys bible study for the lake. If you know anybody that would like to attend let me know!

The Lord will provide

Last thursday, at my church softball game, I accidentally left my glove. I guess someone picked it up, because I couldn't find it once I realized what had happened. This morning I still hadn't gone and gotten a glove because I honestly hadn't thought about it, but when cleaning up the high school with the football team I found a discarded mitt. Just in time for a little First Baptist softball. Yall might think I'm crazy, but I thought it was pretty neat.

Oh, and Coach Hendrix wanted me to put something meaningful in my next blog, so here goes. Tonight, with my new glove, First Baptist of Camden won the regular season championship, maybe your team was good enough for second Coach Hendrix?

Ps, for the first time since 6th grade I can't see my hair. Callie buzzed it all off in my sleep, kinda like sampson. Maybe I'll grow it back and go crazy with a donkey jaw. Who knows.

Spankings

give them to your children. I hate seeing little kids with no home training.

Sorry all 22 of you adoring followers, but I've been pretty busy. Every year around this time I get super busy with spring practice, getting ready for exams, and going to the lake. Sorry I haven't been able to tell you interesting stories of my life or other life lessons. School is coming to a close and I couldn't be more excited. Church was great this morning, if anyone isn't busy on Sunday mornings First Baptist of Camden is the place to be.

Living lavish like the Biltmores

Whats the blood spilt for? A ship in harbor is safe, but thats not what its built for.

Wow, its been a while. So much has been going on recently that I haven't had time to update all twenty two of you with my life story. A bunch has happened since I last blogged. I went to a Drake concert, which was amazing. Literally one of the most enjoyable things I've ever done. Track has also come to an end. Football started Thursday and I can't be anymore excited. Being back on that field is great, its kinda like home to me. Callie is also home for the summer. Thats it for tonight.

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.

Breakfeast.

Yes, I am aware that I spelled "breakfast" wrong, and yes I do choose to spell it that way for a reason. You see, me being such a connoisseur of food, I like to think of Breakfeast as a feast. Its the most important meal of the day, right? So I'm going to say its a feast, not fast. The reason I'm bringing this all up is I wrote a thank you letter to a friend's mom for having us over after prom for Breakfeast. In the letter I unconsciously spelled it breakfeast. I didn't want her to think I was a tard, so I clarified all of this with Charlie today for when her mom gets the letter. Another reason I'm bringing this up, is because I love Breakfeast! I could eat it for every meal just about. Pancakes, bacon, sausage, grits, waffles, eggs, biscuits, and everything else. NOM NOM NOM.

The man at the top of my blog is a fan of breakfeast as well.

The World Needs Love.

and God, well He is love.

Great weekend. Spent the majority of it at the lake, AND I had prom.

The date.Just a quick carriage ride through Camden.
The group. Typical nonsense from the girls.

But yeah, great time. Schools winding down and Callie's gonna be home soon. Hoorah.

Spring break

was great. A week out of school and almost a full week at the lake. Super ready for summer now after getting that little taste of freedom. Prom is this Friday and I'm pretty pumped about that too. Church softball has started, and my first game is in a couple of weeks, so I've got a lot going on. Not much more to say tonight, but I did want to leave you with these verses.

I don't know why

I'm thinking about this, but lets go ahead and go over it. Living in South Carolina, and the small town of Camden has taught me a lot of "Southern Hospitality." That's what most people call it, I find it being pure manners and home training.

First off, boys, hold the door open for women. Its common courtesy, I know your parents taught you better. Second, (this one has been pretty evident lately) when you shake hands give a nice firm grip and look me in the eye. That's just pure respect. I'm not sure why, but when those two things don't happen it upsets me.

That's enough ranting for one blog, I'm not trying to be a debbie downer, I just don't want chivalry to die. In other news, I killed a man.

In Correction

to my latest blog. No, I'm not taking back Mrs. Varat's comment, she has always loved me more. Coach Hendrix said my blog sucked BECAUSE I was talking about the North Charleston game. I can't really blame him for that, it must have been a pretty somber read.

Spring break starts in three days and I couldn't be more excited. I'm going to conclude this blog and get back to Nancy's pimento cheese. Here's more Cup pictures!

The Carolina Cup

Was a success! Considering it rained the past two years, I'll accept the wind this year. It's much more enjoyable.

Big sis, and some random freaks I don't know...

In other news, I've had two people publicly acknowledge my blog. Coach Hendrix said "your blog sucks," again. And Gina Silver Varat, my Furman Child Development Center teacher, which I guess you would consider a day care? Not sure, but we'll save those stories for another day. Anyways, Mrs. Varat had this to say at the cup "Zack, I follow yours and Callies blogs, Mainly yours though. You were always my favorite Neal, and the better student. Keep on rocking." Thanks for the encouragement Mrs. Varat, you're the best.

Whether you eat, drink, or whatever you do, do it for the Glory of God.

It's pretty sad

how I dwell over the North Charleston game. For those of you who don't know, lets take it back a little. Its the second round of playoffs and Camden (8-3) is traveling to undefeated North Charleston (11-0). This team has a mixture of playmakers who all play a variety of positions in different formations. We're playing in the outfield of a baseball field, with the south endzone backing up to the ghetto. I couldn't even find a bathroom before the game, I peed in the bushes behind home plate. These obviously are not conditions that we're used to, you might even say we're spoiled playing in a place as historical as Zemp. Home of seven state Championships and over 80 years of Camden High School football, this place is legendary.

But, back to the game. We're tied going into the 4th quarter, and then the wheels just fall off. At the final whistle we've lost by 30. I still wonder how it all happened. Probably one of the most embarrassing moments in the history of the gold and black, we didn't play bulldog football. As a player, and hopefully future coach, I want to erase this game from my memory, but for some reason I can't. Maybe its because I own the only copy of game film that was made (which I only pull out when the Jimster isn't at home, like now when he's on the way to Wofford for a football convention), or maybe its because of the friendships I've made on that football team and how I don't want to lose a second of those memories. Whatever it is, I think the North Charleston game will haunt me for quite a while.

Watching this film reminds me that I've cried three times in the past two years. Once after the North Charleston game my Junior year, knowing I would never suit up to play ball with the guys I had grown to love. Then again at the Marlboro County playoff game my sophomore year, for the same reason as the North Charleston game. And then at the last game of the regular season my Sophomore year, because I knew Callie would never cheer at Zemp again.

Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds. Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen. Psalm 72:18-19

D-now

was amazing. It was a great weekend just hanging out with the guys and learning more about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was an amazing weekend, even though I had to leave Saturday morning for a track meet, I got back just in time for ultimate frisbee.

Not that much really going on lately. Church softball is beginning, so that's something to be excited about! And the cup is in two weeks, so that's another exciting thing.

I like your shoes

I wish I had shoes like that. My momma always told me you could tell a lot about someone by their shoes. Where their goin, where they've been.

I spent this past weekend in Anderson with the Speaks family for a volleyball tournament. It was pretty great, Maggie's team one the whole thing and Tripp and I were world class ball-boys. I guess we get it from our football ball-boy days. We were ball-boys for chs for eight years and only lost three balls in those 8 seasons. Thats high quality.

First Baptist Church of Camden is having a Discipleship Now event this upcoming weekend and thats something I'm pretty excited about.

I love Peyton Bullard!! I realized this while sitting in Junior Leadership this morning. Judge me. I hope one day I can be apart of the Bullard fam. I've added a map showing how Peyton and I met. Its interactive, so play around with it, but don't play around with love.

Its not that

I'm not an Olympic fan. I'm all for chanting USA and watching curling, but for two weeks the the biggest loser has taken the back burner and hasn't been aired.

The biggest loser is possibly my favorite show on television. I'm not sure if its because the people are changing their lives, or because of how insane the workouts they do are. Butttt anyways, the show is back on tonight and I'm currently watching it. Mike is going for a record tonight, the fastest person to ever lose 100 pounds while at the ranch. He's my favorite person on the show, so all is well.

Pretty average day, Essay in English 101 for the exam and that class is done. Pretty awesome.

Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, "If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." James 4:14-15

I'm not sure

whats more exciting. My blog having twenty followers, or Canada's dominant performance in curling.

Today was a beautiful day, its pretty exciting. I love spring and the sunshine it brings, mainly because I love going to the lake. C-killa came home for a day, then went straight to Charleston, how disappointing. Not really much going on lately, waiting for Spring break and the cup might take a while. Speaking of, I have a spot this year at the Carolina Cup. That's kinda exciting, feel free to stop by.

The Life of a Trackstar

No, Not Usain Bolt. Me. Today at track practice Coach Hendrix, the one that told me my blog sucks, brought his three daughters to practice. The oldest daughter is probably 5 or 6, so they're all young, but they aren't the least bit quiet. One time i remember the oldest daughter, Sarah, running up to Tripp Speaks in Chili's one night screaming "you need a haircut!" With a knife in her hand.

At the beginning of practice we were all throwing disc while the girls sat there watching. By the end of practice Thomas Jordan and I were rolling them all around in their wagon. Pretty eventful practice I'd say.

Callie goes on Spring break this weekend, and I'm kinda amp. Its gonna be a sucky Spring break though, I mean, February? Oh well, bring me a dew slushy and I'll pay for lunch at Haile Street.

But many who are first will be last; and the last, first. Matthew 19:30

Its been such a long time,

I think I should be going. Time doesn't wait for me, it keeps on rolling.

It was a beautiful day today. 67 in February? That's unheard of. After church I went to lunch with the family to celebrate my cousin getting a job in Charlotte, so he's moving out there soon. After we had finished eating we were just sitting around conversing when the biggest roach I have ever seen in my life jumped on my mother. Knowing Nancy, she freaked out. Good thing we went to thing we went to the less popular Mexican restaurant in town, so we didn't cause too much of a scene.

I also found out today that the girl scout cookies had come in. No, I didn't find them in the cabinet, I saw the empty box in the trash can. Thanks mom and dad.

SNOW!

Callie came home yesterday and brought a friend from school, Blythe, with her. We had lunch at BSL, which was banging as usual. After that we went up to the lake just to see how things were and it started snowing! When we got back to Camden I went to Bob's for supper with the other specialists from the football team. By the time supper was over there was three inches of snow outside! This may not seem like much to most people, but I haven't seen snow in years.

Anyways its the day after and the snow is on the ground pretty thick. Callie and Blythe are leaving in an hour and they are still in bed, so i doubt they'll be making any snow angels.

I'm planning on getting xbox live and cod today, so thats pretty exciting.

The Super Blog.

Actually, its not that super. On the bright side, the speaks family is over watching the game. They're all pulling for the saints, but I want the Colts to win so right now I'm enjoying myself.

Also, kgb is offering 50 cents an answer during the game, so life is good. Thats right, I work for kgb_. Not the Soviet's secret police, but the Knowledge Generation Bureau. When People text kgb_ with a question, I'm one of the people answering the questions. Each questions costs 99 cents and I get ten cents for each question I answer, but tonight I'm getting five times that. Feel free to text me anytime at 542-542 .

Callie's coming home friday and we're going to see the movie "Wolfman", except she doesn't know that yet. Blythe, you're also invited.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. $1700 check in the mail?!?

Sounds like a great day, right? Too bad the idiot who tried to scam me spelled "bank" "cank."

I made a Craigslist posting a few days ago trying to get rid of an old Ps2 and some games. Someone emailed me that night saying that he wanted everything and even offered me an extra $100 for me to take the add off of the site. I was getting pretty excited, thinking i was about to get a $300 pay day, and then things started getting sketch. The person told me he was on a business trip so his secretary would have to send me the check, and then he went on to tell me that he was sending me an extra $1400 to pay the movers who were coming to get it, and that I would need to do that as soon as I deposited the check. Thinking it was pretty sketch I took the check to the bank and it was obviously fake.

I can't really think of a lesson this has taught me, i just thought it was pretty comical.

Snow in Camden?

Of course not, just the ice nonsense ruining things as usual. Miss Gold and Black, my high school's pageant, got rescheduled from last night to this afternoon. Then just about all church services throughout the county for this morning were canceled as well. There isn't much to do in the ice so I guess I'll just have to wait for Miss Gold and Black to escort Nashanda Johnson, and Miss Gold and Black 2009, Peyton Bullard!

The defensive lineman coach at my high school came up to me in the hallway this past week and said "your blog sucks. put something meaningful on there." Coach Hendrix, I guess this is for you.

I'm Zack Neal, a junior at Camden high school. I play footb
all and i run track. I was saved on Easter Sunday, when I was nine years old. I love my Church family and all the people there that encourage me to try and follow my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, as much as possible. My big sister is Callie Neal, a Freshman at Pc. She wouldn't let me come visit last semester, because of my raging beard, and now she continues to make excuses even when I'm cleanly groomed. Don't worry night hawk, I'll be attending school with you soon enough.

"Do you have nightmares about men with mullets chasing you?"

It's been a week since my last post, and what am I doing a week later? Watching the vikings game again, of course!

The start of second semester has been pretty slow, except for my second block with Mr. Goodwin. This man is basically the reason for my existence ( he hooked my parents up years ago). He also taught my sister, and was the principal when my father, my aunt, and my uncle were in school.

The first day of class we were doing our work when a girl across the room said "Oh my God!" Mr. Goodwin replied with "Yes, Arielle, did you call me?" With remarks like that I'm looking forward to the rest of the year.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1 :18

Burn, we watch it burn right before our eyes

Today was the 200th year anniversary of First Baptist church of Camden. Pretty cool I must say, even better when my Pastor said "We need to be focused on what God is trying to teach us right now, not thinking to ourselves 'are we going to get out in time to beat the Methodists to the restaurants?'"

Once again, I'm not really sure what to include in my blog. The sandwich quest is still going strong, honey mixes great with peanut butter, but that should have been assumed.

I'm currently watching the vikings cowboys game. If I'm ever half the barbarian that Jared Allen is, I'd be content. I'm not sure how everyone else feels about Brett Favre, but I want him to keep winning and keep playing.

Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

I'm now an official blogger.

After heavy pressure from my sister I finally caved. I'm not really sure what to talk about while blogging, none of my friends beyond my sister blog so this is pretty new to me.

Recently I pondered the question "what's the perfect thing to go with peanut butter on a sandwich?" Upon thinking this I've made the decision to make a sandwich or two every night with a random topping, accompanying the peanut butter of course. Throughout this experiment I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Tonight I made two sandwiches: peanut butter and oreos, then a peanut butter and whoppers sandwich. Surprisingly, the oreo sandwich was delicious, I can see it becoming a regular part of my diet. The whoppers on the other hand, weren't that tasty in a sandwich form. Any suggestions? Let me know.

That about wraps up my first post. I'll be sure to tell more about myself in blogs to come.
